Meta Quest Business Update: Support, device availability, and what to expect next
Meta Business Offerings Updates
Meta has confirmed changes to Horizon Managed Services and Enterprise/Business Meta Quest SKUs starting February 20, 2026.
We know that updates like this can raise questions for organizations running XR projects at scale.
Existing deployments remain supported, Horizon Managed Services becomes free, and Meta continues to invest in XR hardware and platforms.
Below, we outline what is changing, what remains stable, and what this means in practice for current and future Meta Quest deployments.
What is Changing
Sales of HMS and Enterprise or Business Quest SKUs will stop
From February 20, 2026, Meta will stop selling
- Horizon Managed Services licenses
- Enterprise or Business SKUs of Meta Quest
- Meta Quest 3 512GB- SK-1000934-01
- Meta Quest 3s 256GB- SK-1000945-01
- Meta Quest 3s 128GB-SK-1000940-01
- Meta Horizon MS for work - 1 year- SK-1000234
- Meta Horizon for EDU 1 Year-SK-100104
This applies to new purchases only.
HMS will be free of charge
From February 20, 2026, organizations with existing HMS deployments will be able to continue using Horizon Managed Services at no cost.
There is no action required to keep existing environments running.
Long term access and support remains.
Meta has confirmed that Horizon Managed Services will remain available and supported for Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S until January 4, 2030.
This provides multiple years of operational certainty for devices already in the field.
What to Expect Next
Meta has been evolving its enterprise approach for several years, gradually simplifying how organizations access XR hardware and management tools.
As part of this shift, new XR deployments are expected to rely on consumer Meta Quest devices combined with Horizon Managed Services for device management. This model ensures continuity for organizations planning new projects, while keeping hardware widely available and easier to procure.
Support for business deployments and managed environments remains in place, and customers retain long term access to HMS through 2030.
XR projects can continue, devices remain supported, and Meta Quest stays a viable platform for enterprise and education use.
New Projects and Rollouts
From February 20, 2026:
- New deployments can be built using consumer Meta Quest 3 or Meta Quest 3S
- Horizon Managed Services remains available for device management
- The practical impact on new projects is limited
This approach aligns with Meta’s strategy to simplify its portfolio while maintaining strong XR capabilities for professional use.
Meta is Shifting Focus, Not Stepping Away From XR
Meta is not exiting XR.
The company continues to invest in
- New XR hardware
- Platform development
- Mixed reality and spatial computing
New Meta headsets are already planned beyond 2026. The current changes reflect a shift in delivery and structure, not a reduction in long term commitment to immersive technology.
