What is Remote Eye?

Remote Eye is a remote assistance solution that enables remote experts to see what on-site workers see. The softwares is compatible with RealWear and Vuzix smart glasses meaning frontline workers can be supported handsfree through the augmented reality visual guidance. Further, Remote Eye offers low data mode for use in poor connection and a user friendly app to allow for easier sharing of the smart glasses.

Remote Eye allows remote video sharing through the frontline workers’ smart glass. This can be done one on one between a smart glass user and remote expert user. Remote Eye also support multicalls allowing multiple remote experts to join calls to provide better support. Further, Remote Eye allows third party experts without a Remote Expert license to join calls easily through an email or code invitation.

Remote Eye’s remote experts can provide live annotations and drawings to smart glass users. The live drawings and annotations allow for more precise instructions to be provided leaving less room for error and misjudgement. Further, Remote Eye ensures the real problem is addressed as the remote expert(s) can directly point out the issue on the machinery or hardware in front of the on-site worker through assisted reality smart glasses using a red dot cursor.

Remote Eye allows for calls to be recorded and screenshots to be made. The screenshots and recordings can then be used for training purposes allowing future remote experts to quickly solve this issue. Further, Remote Eye accounts have unlimited storage meaning records can be kept and used by other experts to assist smart glass users as long as the license is valid.

Does the Remote Eye software need to be downloaded?
The Remote Eye application does not need to be downloaded. It can be run in your web browser with a stable internet connection. A mobile application is available for download.

How many devices are supported with 1 license?
The standard Remote Eye license consists of:
- 1x Remote Expert User License

This means you will need 1 Remote Eye license per combination of Remote Expert and Smart Glass. It is also possible to purchase an additional license for an extra user and / or Smart glass.
The price of the Remote Eye license is €660,- an additional Remote expert or Smart glass user costs €360,-
What devices can be used as the remote?
Remote eye uses a remote to contact the remote worker. This remote can be used on your desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone. Remote Eye has an app for both the Apple store and Google play store to use the remote from your phone & tablet.
Is the Remote Eye software secure?
Remote Eye uses an encrypted connection to make sure all sessions are secured. It makes sure outsiders cannot access the communication channel between the expert and the smart glass user.
The software uses the cloud service from Amazon which is certified by the ISO standards. In addition to the AWS security there is also an added Firewall and antivirus accompanied by intrusion detection and prevention system.
In the rare case there is a failure, your data can always be recovered by a back-up. Remote eye performs a backup 3 times a day of all your data. Each of the backups are stored on different servers from different providers to make sure you won’t lose your data.
Is there a Trial available for Remote Eye?
Yes VR Expert offers a free trial of the Remote Eye. It is also possible to try out the software with a supporting smart glass to make sure you can use the complete package in your situation.
