The RealWear Navigator 500 is the next generation rugged monocular smart glass that empowers modern frontline workers with remote expertise. The AR headset can be operated hands-free thanks to its excellent voice control. The Navigator 500 is ideally suited for use in inspections, maintenance or repairs. First, the Navigator 500 can be operated hands-free through the use of voice control. The device has the best voice control on the market and the noise-canceling microphones can filter out ambient noise up to 100db. By using noise-canceling microphones, the frontline workers can still be well understood by remote experts even in the noisiest of environments.
Second, the Navigator 500’s camera can shoot pictures with a resolution of 48 MP. No other smart glass on the market has this high megapixel count, which matches that of professional cameras. It also has 1080p video quality and now supports 60 frames per second. This video quality ensures smooth images even during faster movements of the worker and enables high-resolution remote support sessions.
Safety and comfort
Third, the headset is made for use in heavy industry due to its safety certificates. Thanks to IP66 certification, the device is protected from dust and water ingress. In addition, the Navigator 500 has been drop tested for falls from up to 2 meters.
Fourth, the RealWear Navigator comes standard with the RealWear workband, making it comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. To make the device even more comfortable, the weight of the Navigator 500 has been reduced from 380 grams to 272 grams compared to the RealWear HMT-1.
Powerful and adjustable
Fifth, the processor and RAM have been improved compared to the RealWear HMT-1. The newer Snapdragon 662 is installed in the RealWear Navigator along with 4 GB of RAM. This allows even more demanding applications to be run.
Sixth, the boom arm of the RealWear Navigator can now be adjusted even more easily and ensures that the display can be adapted better to the user’s eye. This ensures that the screen fits perfectly with any head shape and allows the display to be seen clearly.
The modular design of the Navigator 500
One of the unique features of this headset is that it is possible to place extensions on the headset. This allows you to customize the headset for what you may need in your situation. For example, you can replace the included camera with a FLIR-camera module. The modular design also makes it easier to repair the headset should you need to do so without the need to purchase a new headset.
