Pico 4 Enterprise
The Challenge
After recording with the drone, Spherie focuses on video production. The recorded video content is then used to create a VR application to create an impressive 360-degree experience. To display this 360-degree video material, the company needed VR glasses with a high video resolution. In addition, the headset has to be able to work with hand tracking in the area of location-based entertainment (LBE).
The VR glasses were to be part of a planned roadshow in which the breathtaking landscapes and animal worlds of Namibia would be brought to life in VR. The VR experience will take place on a converted loading area of an Unimog, and it was important that hand-tracking functions could be integrated.
The Solution
The Pico 4 Enterprise was chosen as it met all the necessary requirements. At the time, the Pico 4 Enterprise had the best video resolution compared to other VR glasses on the market. In addition, the Pico 4 Enterprise makes location-based entertainment possible. This meant that the VR experience could easily take place on the converted loading area of the Unimog. The hand-tracking function within the LBE allows users to see and interact with each other within the VR experience. This opens up the possibility of waving to each other or pointing to specific things within the virtual space.
VR Expert’s services were utilized to find the optimal VR solution for Spherie. With the Pico 4 Enterprise, the right hardware and a VR application developed in-house, Spherie was able to successfully realize their vision of an immersive 360-degree VR roadshow.
