Metaenga – Pico 4 Enterprise
The company is Metaenga, a next-generation XR training company focused on transforming how industrial workers are trained. Founded in 2024 by a team of Ukrainian innovators, Metaenga offers an AI-powered XR Training Platform designed specifically for the energy sector, industrial enterprises, and training centers. At the core of Metaenga’s solution is the belief that training should be more than just efficient, it should be immersive, measurable, and scalable. Their platform combines ready-to-use VR training modules, Integrated Learning Management System (LMS) and Human Systems Intelligence analytics to accelerate workforce training by up to 4× and reduce costs by up to 50%.
Metaenga’s first major implementation in New Zealand was with MITA Consulting, a leading electrical training provider based in New Zealand. With training centers in six different cities across the country, MITA plays a key role in preparing and certifying New Zealand’s future electricians. MITA specializes in electrical safety training, offering government-accredited courses that align with the standards of the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB), the national authority responsible for electrician licensing. Like many training institutions today, MITA was facing multiple challenges at once: a growing need to train more electricians, faster, high costs of in-person training, a desire to make safety procedures more engaging and effective and the need to standardize training delivery across different locations. To continue offering high-quality education while adapting to the demands of a modern workforce, MITA turned to VR as a potential solution and partnered with Metaenga and VR Expert to bring that vision to life.

The challenge
To bring their VR training solution to life for MITA Consulting, Metaenga needed a reliable hardware and service partner to supply pre-configured headsets, fully set up with their XR platform and ready to deploy directly across multiple training sites in New Zealand.
Usage
With VR Expert handling the setup, configuration, and delivery of six fully pre‑configured Pico 4 Enterprise headsets, Metaenga was able to roll out its immersive training module smoothly across MITA’s six sites in New Zealand. VR Expert delivered plug‑and‑play hardware for trainees to start using Metaenga’s VR platform immediately, with no on‑site setup or technical hurdles.

The Challenge
For Metaenga and their client MITA Consulting, the main challenges were the high risk, high cost, and limited accessibility of physical training in the energy sector. Practical training for tasks such as working on energized electrical panels, high-voltage cable jointing, or working at heights is often dangerous, expensive to organize, and restricted by availability of equipment and instructors. Hence, traditional electrical training comes with big challenges: limited hardware, safety risks, and inconsistent instruction across six campuses in New Zealand. This is why MITA needed a solution that maintained the integrity of the electrical workers registration board‑mandated process while eliminating the bottlenecks of traditional training and assessment environments.
Metaenga created a VR-based training solution to solve this. However to make this solution come to life, they needed a reliable hardware partner to supply pre-configured with Metaenga XR Training Platform, ready-to-use VR headsets that could be shipped directly to MITA’s sites in New Zealand. That’s where VR Expert came in.
The Solution
To meet MITA’s needs, Metaenga developed a fully immersive VR training module that mirrors the official EWRB testing process step-by-step. But to make it work smoothly across six locations in New Zealand, they needed the right hardware pre-installed, reliable, and ready to go. That’s where VR Expert came in.
Metaenga partnered with VR Expert to source and deploy the Pico 4 Enterprise headsets. VR Expert handled the full setup, configuring each device with Metaenga’s XR Training Platform before shipping. The headsets arrived at MITA’s training centers fully prepared, ready to be used in training sessions.
The Pico 4 Enterprise was chosen for its standout combination of high-quality visuals, strong data security, and full standalone operation. With no need for external computers or complex installations, the headsets could be used immediately, whether in classrooms, labs, or remote training sites.
The result
With support from VR Expert, six fully pre-configured Pico 4 Enterprise headsets were delivered directly to MITA’s training centers across New Zealand. Thanks to this plug-and-play approach, trainees could immediately begin using Metaenga’s immersive VR modules, no setup or technical adjustments required on-site.
Together, Metaenga’s software and VR Expert’s service enabled:
- Immersive, lifelike training environments modeled on real New Zealand locations
- Safe, hands-on practice of electrical testing procedures without live risk
- Standardized, step-by-step instruction aligned with official EWRB requirements
- Real-time feedback and performance tracking to support instructors and students
- Scalable rollout across multiple locations on an international scale with minimal effort
By combining the right content with the right hardware and logistics partner VR Expert, Metaenga was able to help MITA modernize its electrical training program, making it safer, more consistent, and ready for the future.
Following the success of the initial rollout, Metaenga is now working on a second VR training module for MITA, focused on more technical equipment handling. This next step in the collaboration is expected to launch by later in 2025.
