HandiReality – Pico 4

The company Kajuci, based in France, works at the intersection of innovation and inclusion. Founded in 2019, Kajuci is a consulting firm that focuses on disability inclusion, both in society and, most importantly, in the workplace. Kajuci is a partner of the AGEFIPH (Association for the management of the fund for the professional integration of people with disabilities) and has already been recognized for its innovative approach, receiving a Social Innovation Trophy in 2020.

One area of focus for Kajuci is HandiReality, a unique awareness program that uses virtual reality to help people better understand what it’s like to live with a disability. Kajuci is helping to dispel misconceptions and change perceptions of disability with its HandiReality virtual reality disability awareness program. VR is a tool that makes this awareness innovative, fun, and playful. It allows people to become aware of the difficulties experienced by a person with a disability in order to better understand them and thus be better prepared to interact with a customer, colleague, or classmate with a disability. HandiReality was designed with one big goal: to break stereotypes and challenge common assumptions about people with disabilities.

The challenge

To scale their HandiReality license model, Kajuci needed a trusted partner who could provide affordable, compatible, and hygiene-ready VR headsets, both for their clients and for their own nationwide training sessions.

Usage

Kajuci uses VR Expert-supplied headsets, including refurbished Pico 4 and Pico 4 Ultra Enterprise models, to deliver HandiReality training sessions across France, equip clients, and enable consultants to run the program independently.

What they said

"VR Experts advised us and offered us the right equipment at the best price so that we could encourage our customers to purchase VR headsets and sell our disability awareness content. We ourselves purchase our own VR headsets from VR Expert. They have always been very responsive and flexible, and it is a pleasure to work with them."

    The Challenge

With growing interest in the HandiReality VR experience, Kajuci wanted to make their training tool even more accessible. That’s why they introduced a new license model: instead of delivering every session themselves, clients could now purchase the application and run it independently,  directly in their own organisation. But there were still some challenges as most of their clients companies didn’t have any VR headsets. Kajuci had developed an impactful VR software experience, but without the right hardware, many clients simply couldn’t use it.

Kajuci needed a reliable partner they could trust to equip their clients with the right headsets, easily, affordably, and with the support to ensure everything ran smoothly. At the same time, they also needed a dependable source of VR headsets for their awareness sessions they deliver all across France. On both sides, hardware was the missing link.

To make the HandiReality license model a success, Kajuci needed more than just a VR hardware provider, they needed a reliable partner who could help their clients get fully equipped with the right headset. The first requirement was compatibility. The chosen headset had to work smoothly with the HandiReality software, without any technical barriers for end users. Second, it had to be practical. Both Kajuci and their clients often use the headsets in group training sessions, where multiple users share the same device. That meant the hardware needed to be paired with a hygiene solution, especially important when running back-to-back sessions. It also meant battery life was key: the headsets had to last at least 2.5 hours to avoid interruptions mid-session. To keep the experience both accessible and scalable, Kajuci needed a headset option that was reliable, affordable, and ready to use, without compromising on quality.

    The solution

To find a hardware solution that would meet their technical requirements, Kajuci partnered with VR Expert. VR Expert recommended the use of refurbished Pico 4 headsets, combined with the Enterprise package for their ease of use and excellent price-performance ratio. This allowed Kajuci and its clients to run the HandiReality application under the same reliable conditions as the more advanced Pico 4 Ultra Enterprise headsets. To support hygiene standards during group sessions, VR Expert also supplied PU face masks, which are easy to clean and ideal for equipment that’s shared across multiple users in the same day.

Beyond just the product, what made the difference was the level of service as VR Expert provided advice every step of the way, helping to choose the right hardware at the best price, making it easier for Kajuci’s clients to take the leap into VR. Kajuci highlights the responsiveness and flexibility of the VR Expert team as a key reason why the partnership works so well. Thanks to this partnership, Kajuci can now confidently equip both their clients and consultants with the right VR tools, making their HandiReality content easier to access, easier to scale, and ready to make an even bigger impact across France.
