XpertVR and VR Expert partner to scale immersive firefighter training
As immersive learning continues to evolve, emergency services are increasingly adopting virtual reality to improve preparedness, safety, and decision-making. Through a collaboration between VR Expert and XpertVR, fire departments gain access to a practical and scalable VR training solution that integrates seamlessly into existing training programs.
At FDIC International 2026, XpertVR demonstrates how immersive technology can support real-world firefighter readiness through its training platform, XpertFire. Together with VR Expert’s hardware deployment expertise, the partnership provides departments with a ready-to-use solution that can be implemented quickly and consistently across stations.
Enabling realistic, repeatable firefighter training
XpertVR focuses on delivering scenario-based training environments that allow firefighters to practice communication, coordination, and tactical decision-making in a safe but highly realistic setting. Through XpertFire, instructors can monitor training sessions in real time, adjust conditions dynamically, and guide crews through complex multi-role scenarios.
This sandbox-style approach enables departments to repeat scenarios as often as needed, helping teams refine responses to high-risk situations that are difficult to replicate consistently in live exercises. As a result, VR training supports continuous skill development while reducing logistical complexity and operational costs.
Supporting large-scale training programs
XpertVR has already contributed to several impactful training initiatives across emergency services. One example is the collaboration with the Ontario Office of the Fire Marshal, where immersive learning is used to prepare departments for lithium-ion battery incidents. The program has the potential to support training across hundreds of fire departments, increasing access to high-quality learning experiences regardless of location or resources. Another implementation is with San Diego Fire-Rescue, where VR headsets are shared between stations to enable ongoing training during regular shifts. In one recent initiative, more than 350 firefighters participated in VR-based exercises over a 21-day period, focusing on search and rescue procedures and communication skills. The program demonstrated strong engagement and positive feedback from both leadership and frontline crews.
Hardware deployment designed for real-world use
A key element of the partnership is ensuring that VR training solutions are practical to deploy and maintain. VR Expert provides configured headset kits, charging solutions, transport systems, and onboarding support, helping departments integrate immersive training without adding complexity to daily operations.
By combining XpertVR’s training software with VR Expert’s deployment expertise, departments can implement VR as part of their standard training infrastructure rather than as a standalone pilot project.
Demonstrating the future of emergency services training
At FDIC International 2026, visitors can experience how immersive learning is evolving from experimentation to adoption across fire services. Live demonstrations showcase how VR supports consistent, repeatable training that can be scaled across teams and locations.
The partnership between VR Expert and XpertVR highlights the growing role of immersive technology in building safer, more prepared emergency response teams. As departments continue to integrate VR into their training cycles, accessible and reliable deployment models will play an essential role in ensuring long-term success.
